RoboWar Colour Icons

Technical-ish Documentation

Storage

The color icons are stored in 32 by 32 'cicn' resources. To minimize there space I have excluded the bitmap so that they consists of only a mask and pixmap. The resource ID's work in the same way as the old ICON's did: icon0 normal) equals ID 1000, icon1 (shields) = 1001, icon2 = 1002 etc.

The default icons are stored in RoboWar as 'cicn' resources. The ID numbers are as follows: default icon1 = ID 500, default icon2 = ID 501 etc. The default shileded icon's ID's start at 506, where icon1 shielded = ID 506, shielded icon2 = ID 507 etc.

Not only are the default icons stored as cicn resources, the bullets are too! They start at ID 600.

The great thing about this method of storage is that it's really easy to edit them so that you have a really cool set of bullets ad default icons, just whip out ResEdit...

Old icons

Old icons are not touched unless you edit them in the icon factory, at that point they are updated to cicn's. Old icons will work with the coming version of robowar, but color icons will be totally ignored by previous versions of robowar.

Any More?

nope, though I'll answer any question you have.
